It isn’t built yet. This page exists so the name is spoken for while the work happens. The design is settled and the groundwork is done; the application is not. When there is something real to run, it will appear here.
What it will be

It speaks your SSH config
Reads
~/.ssh/configandknown_hostsdirectly. Your hosts, your keys, your jump hosts — already configured, not re-entered into yet another app’s private database. -
Built to survive the network
Resumable transfers, reconnect mid-file, and a queue that outlives the window, the crash, and the reboot. An app that drops a 20,000-file transfer once has already lost, however good it looks.

Loud about the things that matter
If a host key changes, you will know — clearly, and before anything of yours has been sent to the other end.

A real Linux application
Native, keyboard-first, and dense without being cramped. Not a web page in a costume.
What it will never have
- no subscription
- no account
- no telemetry
- no ads
- no bundled offers
The honest part
Owlery is free, and stays free. There is no paid tier, no revenue model, and nothing to upgrade to. The point of building it is that people use it — that is worth more than what it could have been sold for.
It will never be funded by advertising, tracking, a mandatory account, or a subscription. And it is GPL-3.0, so nobody can take it closed, and if I stop, someone else can pick it up.
